We invite any and all adventurous souls to join us for three days of mind-expanding awesomeness. This is a family friendly event and all are welcome, so long as you act and treat everyone kind and respectfully!

This is an outdoor event in a natural environment. There are associated risks and, while we have measures in place to keep you safe, by attending, you agree to accept full responsibility for yourself and your actions. With this in mind: travel safe, play safe, be kind, clean up after yourself and make sure your stories from the weekend are all killer, no filler.

VILLAGE LIFE

[CAMPING]
You are on your way to three days in the Aussie bush. That means awesome times ahead, so long as you plan and prepare. We have brought in infrastructure and staff to make the festival grounds as safe as possible for you but we are not your parents. It’s up to you to bring along all the things you’ll need to keep yourself comfortable and sheltered, whatever the conditions.  

The perfect festival campsite is an art form, developed and refined over many doofs. While it’s up to you to pimp your festival home in your own unique style, you should check out our Survival Guide for a list of all the camping essentials. 

[GLAMPING]
If you don’t own camping gear (or couldn’t be bothered dealing with it) we have pre-pitched tipis and bell tents available to rent. These spacious tents will be all set up for you when you arrived, in a reserved camping area close to amenities. If you’re heading out after work and aren’t keen on setting up camp in the dark, or if you just like the idea of being able to cruise in and crack a cold one the moment you step out of the car, these comfy, pre-rigged tents may be just the deal you’re looking for. Each Glamping package includes airbeds, sheets, dooner, pillows, led lighting and a rug.

[ATM]
Elements Festival is all about making life easier for you. In this spirit, we will be providing ATMs at the festival. Some markets may also be equipped with EFTPOS facilities. While this is awesome, please keep in mind, we are going to be out in the bush. So, there is always the possibility of signal drop outs. We recommend coming prepared with cash and using the ATMs as a backup.

[CAR PARKING]
Please consider others when parking your car. Flat ground is prime real estate in the campgrounds. If you’re not going to be sleeping in your car, make sure you leave the primo flat spots for tents and vans.  Be considerate of your neighbours when choosing a spot to park. Try to avoid making your car an obstacle for people. Don’t encroach on their space and definitely don’t block off the entrance to their tent (you’d be surprised how often this happens).  

Be a good, considerate neighbour, choose your spot wisely and, once you’re parked, stay parked. 

 

SURVIVAL

[TAKE IT EASY]
This is Straya. It’s kind of an Aussie thing to take pride in how extreme our home is. But sometimes you have to be real about it. Plan for any possible weather conditions with clothing and camping supplies that’ll keep your rig sorted for the duration of the event.  Mixing hot days with running around, dancing, boozing, and perhaps not eating and sleeping as well as you should, increases your chances of getting dehydration, heat stroke, or injuring yourself through some poorly thought out prank. Drink water. Take rests. Get some sleep. Be mindful of how you’re feeling. And be aware of others.

[FIRST AID / SECURITY]
The Elements crew will be joined by a team of medics and security to ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable. But we ask for mindfulness and involvement from all our patrons to keep the space we create together in top form. Check on your friends regularly to make sure they're all good and taking care of themselves. 

If you see anyone who looks like they’re struggling, go introduce yourself, see if they need help, and alert the nearest festival crew member. If you’re not comfortable approaching them yourself, jump straight to the last step and just let a crew member know. In the unlikely event that someone is causing trouble, definitely don’t get involved, find a crew member and let us sort it out. 

Whether this is your first or hundredth doof, you are part of a community. If we’re always looking out for each other and helping each other, there will always be someone there to help. It’s a beautiful system and all you have to do is take responsibility for yourself and be kind to others. Pretty sweet deal.

[WHAT TO BRING]
For maxed-out fun times with no regrets, add these items to your doof list:

  • Esky (Ice is available for purchase on site)
  • Plenty of drinking water
  • Sun protection - hat, sunscreen, sunglasses
  • Clothes for all conditions - hot, cold and wet
  • Shoes for all conditions
  • Rubbish bags for your camp and butt bins if you a smoke
  • Torch
  • Earplugs
  • Camping gear – tent (make sure you have the pegs and poles), tarps, ropes and poles
  • Bedding – mattress, pillow, sleeping bag 

[WHAT NOT TO BRING]
Everyone parties differently so, just to be sure we’re all on the same page, here’s a list of things we don’t want to see at Elements:

  • Pets
  • Glass
  • Fires
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Fireworks
  • Generators
  • Powered speakers
  • Motorbikes, quad bikes, powered bicycles, skateboards, scooters (unless it’s the vehicle that got you to site, leave it at home)
  • Drugs (or excessive amounts of alcohol)
  • Anti-social behaviour

 

ESSENTIAL INFO

[GETTING TO THE FESTIVAL]
We cannot stress enough how important it is to drive safely and responsibly to and from the festival. Make sure you are well rested, pay attention to all road signs and don’t exceed the speed limit. 

Do not drive under the influence of alcohol or any illicit substances.

Expect RBT's and Drug Swab Testing at the entry and exit of every festival you go to, including Elements, and act accordingly. Even if you feel like you’re safe to drive, you just don’t need that kind of stress in your life. More importantly, we all need to be mindful of road safety for our fellow festival-goers and the local community who have welcomed us in. 

Our First Aid station will be offering a drink and drug testing service throughout the event. If in doubt, please use this service and save yourself (and others) the risk.

[VEHICLE PASS - SHARE THE DRIVE]
All vehicles entering Elements Festival 2018 will require a vehicle pass. The $20 fee will cover traffic management costs, reduce the number of vehicles on site and, therefore, increase the number of sweet camping spots. We’re hoping this will also encourage carpooling which will save you not just on the vehicle pass fee but also on fuel, all while helping ease our impact on the environment. Wins all around.

Vehicle passes can be bought when you purchase your online ticket, or at the front gate of the festival. Motorbikes get a free pass since you can’t really carpool and you’re not taking up much space. And, since we’re chivalrous folks, Elements will offer a free shuttle service from the front gate to the festival grounds for anyone wishing to park their vehicle at the front gate car park and avoid the fee.

Since we’re not ones for subtlety, we’ll say it again: get down with carpooling. It is better for:

  • the environment – fewer cars on the road
  • your festival funds – you can share fuel costs
  • pre-festival vibes – it’s hard to not get excited when you’ve got a car full of happy people
  • the ride home – you can look out for each other and make sure the driver is in fit condition to be behind the wheel.

 

[GATES OPEN / CLOSE]
Gates open 10am Friday 19th October and the music kicks off from 2pm. Please do not arrive prior to this opening time as we will be busy adding the finishing touches and will have to make you wait outside. Like sad little lost puppies. And we don’t want to do that.  The party wraps up on Sunday night with the music off at 8pm. To help you with that awkward transition period between partying and going home, we’ll have silent films on until 11pm. We invite you to hang around and get some sleep on Sunday night so you’re safe to drive Monday morning. However, the gates will close at 2pm on Monday so all we ask is that you vacate the premise by then.

[FESTIVAL ENTRY]
If you like saving time and money, we recommend pre-purchasing your ticket (ticket link). Gate prices are always higher and it always takes a bit longer to buy a ticket. To save yourself even more time, have your purchased ticket ready so we can scan it, give you a wristie and send you on your way. Everyone who enters the site will be issued with an Elements 2018 wrist band. It is a condition of entry that your wristie remain on at all times during the festival.  

[WRISTIES]
Entering the site without a wristie is trespassing. More to the point, it’s stealing from people who have invested their time, money, energy and sanity into bringing you an immersive experience in creative awesomeness. Paying for entry is your way of respecting the dedication of the crew and the talent of the artists involved in the festival. If you’re not rocking your official Elements 2018 wristie, we’ll give you two options: buy a full price ticket (in which case you get to tell your mates you got a wristie from a security guard) or have your personal details recorded and an unceremonious ejection from the event (not such a great story).

[CAR PARKING | CAMPING]
Once you’ve parked and set up camp, you need to stay put until you’re exiting the site. Make sure you come prepared with all the supplies you’ll need for the duration of the event. If something comes up, please come and speak to event staff before moving your car. Chances are we’ll be able to help. 

[FOOD & BEVERAGE]
Elements Festival 2018 will operate as a BYO event but with the added delight of a licensed area in the heart of the festival grounds. This shaded oasis will serve a delicious assortment of ice-cold bevvies, including craft beers, cocktails and mocktails. The whole purpose of our festival is to create a good time for you and, trust us, we’ve doofed enough to know you’re going to have a way better time if you stay safe and responsible with your alcohol consumption. Please limit the amount of BYO alcohol brought onto site. Absolutely NO glass. Management reserve the right to confiscate any glass bottles and excessive amounts of alcohol.

Our food markets will serve a wide variety of healthy snacks and delicious meals to keep you fuelled all weekend. Our focus is on having something for everyone so vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements will all be provided for. Please check our list of marketers here (COMING SOON).

[NO AMPLIFIED SOUND SYSTEMS]
Please be respectful of your neighbours and use camp as a place to chill and refill. If you want to listen to loud music, that’s what the d-floor was made for.

[LEAVE NO TRACE]
We are so lucky to be able to party out in the beautiful Aussie bush. But you need to be aware that we’re intruding on the homes of a lot of native wildlife when we go out there. They happily scatter away to allow us space to do our thing. The least we can do is make sure we leave their home in mint condition for when they return. 

Don’t drop rubbish. It’s pretty simple. Cigarette butts especially. No-one likes a loose, smelly butt in their pocket and nature doesn’t like them either. The solution? Butt bins. Any small container you can keep in your pocket to keep your smelly butts contained. 

Leave your camping area as clean as you found it. Pick up after yourself and, if you see any rubbish on your way to the dancefloor, pick it up and put it in one of the bins provided. This takes a few seconds to do which is less time than it takes to read this “Leave no Trace” section of the guidelines, so you will actually be saving yourself time.
